Put on your skates for a jolly good time as our beloved and popular iceless skating rink returns for the fourth year. Glide into the holiday spirit as you skate across our enchanting rink, surrounded by lights and festive decorations. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or stepping onto the “ice” for the first time, our synthetic rink offers a delightful experience for all ages.

Our 2,000 sq ft rink is open throughout the festival (weather permitting), so bundle up in your coziest scarves and mittens. Ice skating, including the skates and skate helpers, is free.

Can you make reservations?

You can sign up for a skate time at the sign-up desk. During peak time, walk ups will be allowed as space becomes available. Reservations are available at the top of every hour.

Hours of ice-skating rink?

Friday, Dec 5 from 5-9pm
Saturday, Dec 6 from 2-9pm
Sunday, Dec 7 from 2-8pm

Can I use my own ice skates?

Yes. Figure skates and hockey skates are both allowed. If you don’t own skates, skates are available at the ice rink.

Can I attend Polar Express and Ice Skate?

Yes. The ice rink is located directly across from the Transportation Museum. If you make reservations, please make them 2 hours before or 2 hours after your scheduled Polar Express Ride Time.

Is there a charge to skate?

There is no charge for skating, the use of the skates or Skate Helpers.

Is there a waiver?

Yes. All people skating will need to sign the waiver before they can skate. A parent or legal guardian will sign for anyone under 18 years of age. Everyone 18 years old or above must sign their own waiver. Children under the age of 12 must have an accompanying adult on premise while their skating.

Is there an age limit?

All skaters must be able to walk and skate on their own. Skates will fit shoes toddler age 3 to men’s size 13. No one is allowed to carry a child while skating. Children under the age of 12 must have an accompanying adult on premise while their skating.

Are Skate Helpers available?

There are a limited number of skate helpers available to use. If you or someone in your party wants one to assist them in skating, please see one of the volunteers at the rink.

What type of clothing should I wear?

The ice rink is located outside. We recommend you dress warmly. If you plan to skate, you must wear socks. Also hats, tiaras, caps, and other hair accessories are not allowed in the ice rink.

Are storage lockers available for personnel belongings?

There are no storage lockers available for storage of personnel belongings.

How many people can skate at one time?

The capacity of the rink is 50 people at a time.

Is the ice rink open if it rains?

In the event of rain, the rink will be closed. As soon as the rain stops, the rink will be dried, and skating will resume. You may check with the volunteers at the sign-in desk for more information.

Rules

  • Change shoes in the changing area. Only walk on skates in designated area or ice rink.
  • Socks are required while wearing skates.
  • Your own skates may be used.
  • Hats, tiaras, combs, and other hair accessories must be removed before entering the rink. They can pose a hazard if they land on the rink.
  • As you leave, return all skates to the return table, located at the exit.
  • Everyone must skate in the same direction forward facing. Backward skating is not allowed. Skate within your limits. There are a limited number of skate helpers available for use while skating.
  • You are not allowed to carry a child while skating.
  • No horse playing, rough housing, pushing, fast skating, reckless skating, playing tag, jumping, spinning or other behavior that may cause injury to you or others.
  • No food, drink, or chewing gum allowed in skating rink or changing area.
  • No alcoholic beverage permitted in changing area or rink.
  • No smoking, vaping, or other tobacco products allowed.
  • No pets or animals allowed.
  • We reserve the right to deny a person skating access if under the influence of alcohol or drugs, obscene language, aggressive or inconsiderate behavior.
  • Follow all instructions given by the skating patrol.
  • Not following the rules can lead to you being removed from the rink and skating area.
