Put on your skates for a jolly good time as our beloved and popular iceless skating rink returns for the fourth year. Glide into the holiday spirit as you skate across our enchanting rink, surrounded by lights and festive decorations. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or stepping onto the “ice” for the first time, our synthetic rink offers a delightful experience for all ages.
Our 2,000 sq ft rink is open throughout the festival (weather permitting), so bundle up in your coziest scarves and mittens. Ice skating, including the skates and skate helpers, is free.

You can sign up for a skate time at the sign-up desk. During peak time, walk ups will be allowed as space becomes available. Reservations are available at the top of every hour.

Yes. Figure skates and hockey skates are both allowed. If you don’t own skates, skates are available at the ice rink.
Yes. The ice rink is located directly across from the Transportation Museum. If you make reservations, please make them 2 hours before or 2 hours after your scheduled Polar Express Ride Time.
There is no charge for skating, the use of the skates or Skate Helpers.
Yes. All people skating will need to sign the waiver before they can skate. A parent or legal guardian will sign for anyone under 18 years of age. Everyone 18 years old or above must sign their own waiver. Children under the age of 12 must have an accompanying adult on premise while their skating.
All skaters must be able to walk and skate on their own. Skates will fit shoes toddler age 3 to men’s size 13. No one is allowed to carry a child while skating. Children under the age of 12 must have an accompanying adult on premise while their skating.
There are a limited number of skate helpers available to use. If you or someone in your party wants one to assist them in skating, please see one of the volunteers at the rink.
The ice rink is located outside. We recommend you dress warmly. If you plan to skate, you must wear socks. Also hats, tiaras, caps, and other hair accessories are not allowed in the ice rink.
There are no storage lockers available for storage of personnel belongings.
The capacity of the rink is 50 people at a time.
In the event of rain, the rink will be closed. As soon as the rain stops, the rink will be dried, and skating will resume. You may check with the volunteers at the sign-in desk for more information.
