About this event
The Salute to Veterans begins with Presenting the Colors, followed by the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance. The Piedmont Community Band will provide a concert of patriotic music, ending with Silent Night, which was sung simultaneously in French, English and German by troops during the World War I Christmas truce of 1914. It was one Carol that soldiers on both sides of the front line knew, so if you know it, feel free to sing along, in any language you choose.
